As part of the ‘Meet with a LeadHer’ series, organised in the run-up to International Women’s Day in Pune, I had the pleasure of interacting with Anu Aga, Padma Shri Awardee and former Rajya Sabha Member, and Meher Pudumjee, Chairperson of Thermax Ltd – the mother-daughter team behind the billion-dollar conglomerate ‘Thermax Global.’
They shared their story of how they embraced leadership in the most unexpected ways. Their grit and commitment are so inspiring.
We discussed the rise of remote work post-COVID and how today, we must all adapt to a hybrid workplace for our employees. Work-life balance is something that all of us strive for, and our role as leaders in creating a company culture where our employees and our organisation can thrive.
All of us have biases, and some of those spill into our workplace. They affect our team’s morale, the work environment and, in turn, create more biases. How do we, as leaders, keep it from affecting our employees and our culture? How do we create a culture that feels good to employees but is still beneficial for our companies?
In the end, it all comes down to people. We have to trust them and guide them to do their jobs, we cannot do it for them. A leader’s job is to delegate.
My biggest takeaway from the session was, “Change is the only constant, our ability to navigate through change will define our success.”
Organised by the offices of External Relations and Alumni Engagement, ‘Meet with a LeadHer’, is a series of interactive lunch/coffee meets where a woman leader will share perspectives on their journey and achievements with a select audience from the ISB community.
