Perspectives from ISB

There has been a long and fruitful association between ISB students and Johnson & Johnson. On Tuesday,  August 9, 2016, we got to know exactly why. During an informative and a very enjoyable session with Mr. Aravind Viswanathan and Ms. Naomi Cragg we learnt what it’s like to work at J&J.

The number of products and the reach of J&J is mind boggling. As an employee you get to touch the lives of millions! For instance, Ethicon, a brand of surgical products, is one of the most commonly used medical product (suture material) in the country. The fact that it was owned by J&J is something I learnt during the session despite using it practically everyday, both as a surgical intern in Bangalore, and as an emergency physician in Delhi.

Along with them was one of our own, Amit Raheja (Co2004), who talked to us about his journey and the perks of being a J&J employee. Some minutes into the talk and we were treated to a surprise – several alumni from the classes of 2013, ‘14 & ‘15 working with J&J joined us. Turns out, J&J’s sales division had an event that day in Hyderabad, which meant our session turned into quite the party!

Our alumni talked about the IRDP and their individual experiences with the company. Later we convened for tea, where we made further plans to network with our seniors. All in all, the session was much more than we’d bargained for and I’m eagerly looking forward to the next one!
