Perspectives from ISB

A  recent  article reports that the online travel company Orbitz shows different hotels to customers depending on whether they visit the website from a Mac or a PC. The Mac users are in many cases shown the more expensive and pricier hotels. Is this good revenue management? Orbitz says that it does not show the same room at different prices to different users and customers have the option to rank results by price.  Still, is it unfair? Or, does tailoring the search results improve customer experience?
