It is a new trend that is catching in fast in Indian family businesses. This story is about a group of entrepreneurs who were successful in their own right. Then they married into big Indian family businesses and started helping their in-laws in new ventures.
Shikhar Malhotra. He was a successful distributor of Honda. He married Roshni Nadar, director and CEO of HCL and the daughter of tech billionaire Shiv Nadar of the $5-billion HCL Group. Shikhar is currently the CEO of Shiv Nadar Schools as also a trustee of the Shiv Nadar foundation.
Pankaj Dinodia. He is the CEO of his own family business, Dinodia Capital Advisors, a leading financial consulting firm based in Delhi. His clientele includes Orient, Cremica, and Kelsec. Pankaj is an MBA from Harvard Business School. He married Vasudha Munjal, the daughter of Pawan Munjal, Chairman, MD and CEO, of Hero MotoCorp. Currently he is also advising his father-in-law’s firm Hero.
Sahil Vachani. A graduate from University of Warwick, he started his career as an investment banker with Citigroup in London. In the year 2004, he joined Dixon Technologies, as Business Head, and later in 2008, co-founded Dixon Appliances serving as MD ever since. He married Tara Vachani, the daughter of Max India chairman Analjit Singh. Currently he is the managing director of Max Ventures and Industries Limited.
