Dr Meghana Kambham , an ISB PGPpro Co’ 21 alumna, is a social entrepreneur, and Co-founder of CarenGrow. With a background in medicine and social entrepreneurship, she has developed an innovative solution to improve preventive healthcare and behaviour change for school-going children.
During her MBBS internship at Andhra Medical College in Visakhapatnam, India, Dr Meghana Kambham observed a troubling pattern: most diseases reported by patients in the outpatient department were preventable. This revelation, coupled with a similar observation in her family-run schools, where many children faced learning losses due to preventable physical and developmental delays, ignited a passion in her to make an impact in preventive healthcare.
Dr Meghana recalls, “It was a conversation with my mother about learning loss patterns in our schools that sparked the idea of addressing this problem through a tech-based preventive healthcare platform.” This insight was the genesis of Care n Grow, an innovative venture dedicated to early childhood development.
An alumna of the Indian School of Business’s Post Graduate Programme in Management for Working Professionals (PGPpro), Dr Meghana leveraged her education and experience to create a groundbreaking solution. She built a preventive ecosystem to detect, monitor, and ensure the physical and brain health of young children, from birth to six years old.
The Birth of Care n Grow
In the last decade, Care n Grow has become a beacon of hope for over 10,000 children by identifying developmental delays early and aiding their recovery. Dr Meghana elaborates, “We developed a personalised, evidence-based programme that is an end-to-end ecosystem for tracking and ensuring milestone-oriented brain development. This programme is crucial for determining school performance, future earning capacities, and overall success in life.”
A Comprehensive Approach
Care n Grow’s patented approach offers a comprehensive suite of services, including developmental screening assessments, customised daily interventions in the form of five-minute activities, and referrals to experts when necessary. The model promotes healthy development in five critical areas: fine motor, gross motor, social-emotional, cognitive, and communication skills. To date, it has positively impacted over 50,000 families across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and other states.
A Vision for the Future
“Our aim is to reach 1 million children by 2026,” Dr Meghana says with determination. Her vision is ambitious but rooted in a deep commitment to making a tangible difference in children’s lives. By focusing on early intervention, she believes that many future health and developmental issues can be prevented, setting children on a path to optimal growth and development.
